Relationship Builders Wild Rover-Speaker Kristen Bracy I Rise

Description

Kristen Bracy is the Founder and CEO of I Rise FL, inc. a local nonprofit which supports survivors of violence and exploitation through creating supportive partnerships and a pathway to financial independence and upward mobility. She also serves as the Director of the SAFE Alliance in Tampa Bay, a strategic alliance of businesses, people, and organizations who have united to combat commercial sexual exploitation. Kristen is a researcher for the Office of Sex Trafficking Intervention Research (STIR) at Arizona State University, a trauma-focused clinical social worker, and adjunct faculty member at Fordham University.  She has co-authored reports and peer-reviewed publications on sex and labor trafficking research, and has presented at local, national, and international conferences on intervention strategies for sex and labor trafficked youth and adults. Kristen has a Master's degree in Social Justice and Human Rights and a Master's degree in Social Work. She serves on the Pasco County Commission on Human Trafficking and is a Research Scholar Member of the Global Association of Human Trafficking Scholars (GAHTS).

About I Rise FL, inc.
Grounded in over a decade of direct practice and research, I Rise addresses human trafficking and domestic violence as both social and economic justice issues. Economic abuse is a key tactic used by traffickers and abusers to recruit, control, and trap victims. Our mission is to prevent re-victimization by helping survivors achieve financial independence, stability, and meaningful careers. Through our trauma-informed, survivor-specific model focused on financial literacy, education, and employment, I Rise offers person-centered coaching, financial literacy education, comprehensive case management, a 4-week, 120-hour job readiness program, and monthly professional development groups. I Rise helps survivors move out of surviving and into thriving!
