DESCRIPTION:Amy Rettig is currently the Director of Community Partnerships and Development at AMIkids. She spent 14 years as a board member for the organization in Pinellas County before joining the staff at their home office in Tampa in November 2025. Prior to that\, she worked with Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay helping with fundraising and fostering friendships for a non-profit great cause that still means a lot to her. She completed close to three decades on her journey at Nielsen. Amy held progressively responsible positions in diverse fields\, including Human Resources\, Training and Organizational Development\, Client Service\, Communication\, and Public Affairs. In her final role at the company's flagship facility in Oldsmar\, Amy was Nielsen's Senior Vice President of Community Engagement while serving as the co-site leader at the Global Technology and Innovation Center in Tampa Bay. AMIkids is a national nonprofit youth organization based in Tampa that has empowered more than 172\,000 young people to discover their true potential since 1969. With close to 45 program locations across six states\, AMIkids fosters relationships\, care\, and a sense of family through a proven approach that integrates treatment\, education\, workforce development\, and behavior and skills training. AMIkids helps young people believe "I Can" while developing the confidence to build meaningful\, successful futures. I will discuss our unique approach to marine education and the organization's yacht donation program. We currently have an on-the-water conservation effort going on with AMIkids youth\, community volunteers\, and restoration partners working together to restore seagrass habitats in Tampa Bay. Through this AMIkids Seagrass Restoration Initiative\, young people are gaining hands-on experience in marine science and environmental stewardship while actively contributing to restoration efforts that support the long-term health of Florida's coastal waters.
