WHAT IS A QUARTER AUCTION AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Our Quarter Auction is a part raffle, part auction, part fundraiser and also a direct sales party. It works a bit like bingo. When you arrive, your ticket entitles you to a numbered paddle. This paddle will have a corresponding ball that will be placed in the drawing basket. You may purchase a second bidding paddle for an additional donation if you wish. Our direct sales vendors donate the items that will be auctioned "for quarters." If you have decided to bid on an item, and you have thrown in your quarters (2-4 depending on the value), hold your paddle high. The numbered balls will be drawn until one corresponds with a raised paddle and the lucky winner wins a lovely item. Be sure to bring your quarters (two rolls recommended as you will want to bid often), but if you forget or run out, there will be rolls of quarters available to purchase.
In addition to this fun-filled afternoon activitiy, you will partake of an Italian buffet luncheon and have time to visit our vendor's booths for some pre-holiday shopping, all while helping the Kids and their Families at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital.
Proceeds from this event to benefit Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital Nursing Excellence Program, the new state-of-art ambulance for Transport Services and Johns's Hopkins All Children's Hospital Out-Patient Clinic, East Lake.
In addition to this fun-filled afternoon activitiy, you will partake of an Italian buffet luncheon and have time to visit our vendor's booths for some pre-holiday shopping, all while helping the Kids and their Families at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital.
